Chuck Berry, Rock n Roll
This piece started as an abstract monotype with many, many layers over 20 years ago. Then I added layers of abstract silkscreen, then I found a discarded silkscreen of Chuck Berry in the print studio at Moore College of Art and Design and added him. As a musician I appreciated his contributions to music, but he’s definitely a problematic human being. About 15 year ago I added layers of stencils and oil pastels. In early 2024 I added the checkerboard floor and felt it was finally finished.
